Which side of the island do you want to stay on and what kind of accommodation? There are several of the smaller hotels in Simpson Bay that are already open, but none of them are on the beach. And TTOL sponsor Islandtude, a villa overlooking Princess Juliana, is open and booking.

As I said, check like Baker's Suites, Simpson Bay Suites, those kinds of places. I honestly don't know whether either of them have full kitchens or not, as I'm not that familiar with them. As of now, Atrium and Simpson Bay Resorts are renting what they call NON tourist accommodations, in that they say there is no pool or beach availability. I don't know what their situation will be by January, but you could check with them.

La Vista Beach has informed its owners that they will be open as of December 16. I believe most of the units there are owned by timeshare owners, but it's possible that some owners might not be using their weeks. I'd suggest you go to their web page and check for availability. Their studios are more like a one bedroom than a studio, as there's a door to close off the sleeping area. They also have full kitchens.

I would also check VRBO, and TALK to the owner to determine if there was any damage. We rent from friends now, its easier... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

I would like to suggest Princess Heights. We've stayed there for the past several years and love it. They have one and two bedroom suites with full kitchens, very clean and very nice accommodations. Parking on site. It is on the Dutch side but may be further away that what you would like to be. We like the area because it's quiet and a very close drive to most areas. I know that they were one of the few condos that survived with minimal damage. We are staying there in February. You may want to give them a try. The are located in Oyster Pond/Dawn Beach Area. Very nice people to deal with.
