I am mainly concerned about my friends on island first and foremost. This island I have. Been going to since 1992 is a gem to us. Please if anyone knows the status of my timeshare week 49 at Sapphire inbox me! If it's gone, what do timeshare owners do?

chances are the resort will be closed for repairs. most of the others are till at least the end of the year. i seriously doubt that any resort will be accepting guests for the next year or so.

Cannot agree. All depends upon severity of damage. Belair Beach Hotel on Little Bay (our resort) has announced that they will be operational December 1, 2017. I think we will see other resorts that expect to be open for business considerably sooner than some of the resorts with extensive damage. I am not minimizing the lasting effects of Irma on SXM but those structures with little damage don't make the news.

EdB said: i seriously doubt that any resort will be accepting guests for the next year or so. Absolutely incorrect. There are several resorts that will be open before the end of THIS year. Not sure how many takers they will have, but some resorts will be open. I believe that Mary's Boon and Beachside Villas will be open before the end of this year also.

Does anyone know of a website for Sapphire owners? I had to get a new debit card today, they just took WAY more out than my maintenance dues are, and I just paid in April! I'm very concerned!

There is a closed Sapphire Beach Club (SXM) Timeshare Owner Facebook group. When you ask to join, check your Messages as they will ask you the week you own. They have some current pictures. It does not look good. (NB-My parents own for 20+ years, I am not an owner.)

To Carol's point, hundreds of units (collectively) are fine and habitable at both Divi and Simpson Bay Resort now, but are occupied by Dutch Marines and aid workers. It will be a while before any of those units can be used by timeshare owners, but as soon as it's humanly possible it will happen. Sooner rather than later is what everyone wants and what resorts are striving for.
