I wonder if that number is inflated any?

Also noteworthy about hotels not being ready for guests for 1.5 to 2 years.

I was surprised that it said that ONLY 70% of hotels were out of service. That means that 30% actually are habitable? Of course at this point, they say that soldiers and relief workers are staying there.

The association of French side hoteliers (AHSM) has noted 70 per cent of hotels are out of service. Most available rooms have been taken over by the military or relief agencies.

I hope that means some employment of staff at the remaining rooms
Some work is better than no work at this point

Gibbs also indicated that commercial flights from Grand Case airport, inbound and outbound, will start at the end of this week.

Perhaps another way in for residents that need to assess their property.

St Barth Commuter will be flying between SBH and SFG beginning tomorrow. That will help people who need to travel between the two islands, but not many others.

Hi Carol

Actually the story said "Forty per cent of the French side population, in those areas [color:"red"]where networks or infrastructure is underground[/color], has power"

They neglect to say what percentage of the infrastructure is underground.

Well, I wasn't exactly sure what it meant. I read it both ways. One way, I thought it meant, 40% of the electric there is underground and where it is underground, it is all restored. Not sure..
