Here it is, Sunday 5 AM, and I’m wide awake! Might as well file a quick report on yesterday’s moving day activities.
Checked out of Princess Hgts and headed for our timeshare unit at LaVista. LaVista is nowhere near as luxurious as PH, but we love it there. Check-in quick and easy. They say “welcome home”, and it does feel like home.
Our rental Hyundai Trajet was a real clunker. You could either go up hills, or use the A/C…not both! A headlight burned out (made driving around Oyster Pond real exciting) and the seatbelts in the back did not work, definitely a safety issue since we would have 6 passengers. Stopped by Ace/Panoramic to express dissatisfaction, and the lady says come back in an hour, she would have something else. Did she ever! Beautiful Hyundai Santa Fe, leather seats, sunroof, automatic temp control A/C that actually worked. Big V6 engine that easily climbs hills. Very satisfied with our new ride!
Picked up our friends at the airport at 3 PM. While waiting there see a commotion…2 guards wrestling some guy to the ground, handcuffed and hauled him out the door. I think he had just arrived on a flight, but no idea what the issue was. Finally picked up our friends and back to LaVista.
One reason we like Simpson Bay is so much is within an easy walk. Went to Buccaneer Beach Bar, was greeted by a very personable young lady, great service (a vast improvement over recent visits). I had the special--jalopena & pineapple burger---delicious.
Sitting on the balcony now watch a cruise ship glide slowly by.
So far a great trip.
Here's Saba from our balcony at LaVista---
