https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2017/tropical-storm-maria"Maria could also affect the British and U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by mid week as a dangerous major hurricane, and hurricane watches could be issued for these islands as early as Sunday. Interests in these areas should monitor the progress of Maria and follow any advice given by local officials."

So, what more damage can be done? Maybe a bit more mud, more stocking of food if one has shelter...maybe it will pass by ...

Can we start being able to use profane language on this site? I've got a lot stored up.

Places that are currently providing shelter can be damaged further. Progress made since Irma can be set back to where it was or worse. Additional lives could be lost. People there are already physically and mentally drained - so there's that as well - another storm so close only adds to that - I can't even imagine.. So yes, a lot more damage could be done. In addition, places that did relatively ok from Irma could have damage and that could impact aid. So lets hope it does pass and there's no impact from it.

A Hurricane Watch is now in effect for St. Maarten / St. Martin and for St. Barths and Anguilla. I'm afraid the Virgin Islands will be next. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT5+shtml/162038.shtml

It was a rhetorical question, the endurance of the people who are still there and now must prepare for another storm...and endure they must.

Have you been reading Bvilovercgb's daily posts on trying to survive? He is aware of what can be worse. I feel so sorry for him and all the others on those islands and God help them if they have to endure more!

LBI2SXM are you replying to me? Yes, I have been reading Chucks updates here and on BVI Abroad, as I've said my thoughts and prayers are with him and everybody there. ?

I don't believe bvilovercgb is Chuck or even in the islands at this time. Just to clarify as it seems there may be some confusion.

LBI2SXM said: I don't understand? He is not on Tortola? Then who is this? He is simply sharing the posts that Chuck has made on facebook - they have been shared to both the main BVI groups. I thought it seemed like you might have misunderstood and I think he mentioned in a past post he wasn't chuck, just not so clear from the more current ones.

Thanks. I am not on Facebook so I do not know this Chuck. So you are saying the real Chuck is on Facebook and this guy is writing on the BVI forum what the other one posts on Facebook?

Yes - Chuck is posting on facebook - someone else is sharing it to two of the BV groups and it is also being shared here by bvilovercgb.

Oh dear, just to clarify...when I first read Chuck's posts, I thought only to share it here, as not everyone is on FB. I certainly didn't mean to imply that I was him. I just shared this incredible journey that is in progress. He is on FB, but a lot of people here on this site are not...That is all I wanted to do....share.

I replied on the other thread. Please just state in each post that you are just re-posting and things are fine.

I apparently didn't read the beginning well enough to understand who you were or weren't. Sorry but whatever, your posts are really important to give us knowledge of what is going on there and how everyone is coping. My heart aches for all you lovely people in the BVI. I have been to the BVI over 15 times and spent a week on Tortola with "Lenny" certainly no contest with Irma! Just keep on sharing!

Beerman, Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that. I guess I was confused as to who was who and what was what. I am not on Facebook (guess I should be) then I probably would not act like such an a$$. Everyone is a little on edge, totally understandable seeing what has happened to our beloved islands.
