Here goes: Sat. Flew US Air Dayton, Ohio to Charlotte to SXM. We were met by Marius of St. Louis Car Rental at Julianna airport. He said he is thinking about becoming a TTOL sponsor again, later this year. Checked into the Divi, had excellent blackened mahi-mahi at the Toucan Restaurant at Divi. We went to the Great Bay Casino, where I won a small sum playing the draw poker machine.
Sun. Visited Friar's Beach, Happy Beach, Orient Beach. Ate at Cheri's, ice cream at Hagendaas, won at Casino Royale's roulette machine. Upon our return to the Divi, saw a crowd of people gathered at the Philipsburg side of the resort. A teenage girl at the Great Bay Resort drowned in a wave-runner accident. No life preserver. The driver was later charged with manslaughter, I understand. The body washed up on the rocks by the Divi.
Mon. Visited Maho Beach, Mullet Beach. The highlight of the was the TTOL Party at the Buccaneer Beach Bar, at Pelican. Mike (Minnesnowta) and friends did a great job, despite a temporary power failure. Great people!
Tues. Visited Galion, Orient, Mullet and Rouge Beaches. Galion is really pretty. Reminds me of Baby Beach in Aruba. Ate lunch at Pineapple Pete's. Excellent! Looked at the Rino boats. Ate dinner at Toucan Restaurant and received hugs from Marisol and Geraldine, also greeted by Walter. Love those people! Made money again at Great Bay Casino.
Wed. Found wild cotton plants at Cupecoy. Simpson traffic very bad. Also, a truck turned over onto the Cole Bay Hill roundabout. The best route to Orient is the east coast route through Philipsburg, French Quarter, etc.
Thurs. Barbeque night at the Divi. Fun evening. Refused the invitation to go to the timeshare owner's meeting at the resort. They were too agressive 2 years ago (not like Divi).
Fri. Drove to Orient via Oyster Pond. We went to French Cul-de-sac and took a ferry over to Pinel for lunch at Korobuni's (sp.). Had red snapper at the Divi and attended the Karioke night. Excellent singers! My wife wowed them with Its My Party (Leslie Gore) and Superstar (Carpenters). Said our goodbye's to Marisol, Geraldine and Walter and prepared for the next day's flight.
Sun.
Paradise is an island in the Caribbean!
