I imagined it would be bad but expected that these buildings had been through many storms and would have something to rebuild. I don't see much in that category.
But to be honest, and I don't know how France and the locals will do so with the owners, but it all probably needs to be bulldozed and reset starting from scratch.
We have a strong atachment to the dinners we've had and the people that served them with talk of the town and bistrot caraibes at the top. Both need a new building.
Sadly, anything modern and new will be hard to duplicate the atmosphere.
This is not just any old disaster, this is a total disaster.
And as a part of france, as it is, the collective folks need to some how raze and restart.
The days of neglecting a colony, as I don't think they have in recent times, cannot happen in the aftermath.
Easy to say, hard to do and pay for.
Also easy to see some throwing in the towel
Super sad

That is easily the worst Irma video I have seen. As mentioned above, most of it is just not worth repairing. Shocking and gut-wrenching.

yep, that's GC - the pier where the lolos were, the airport, Residence Catalina at 1:04 & I see Piazza Pascal at 1:09. Anyone know what the big pile of nothing is on the left hand side at minute 1:17? Rainbow?

MSNBC just showed parts of that video and implied it was in the USVI. Since it appears to be a French video, I am thinking they are probably wrong.

Just goes to show how much misinformation can be out in the different medias. Which makes it very important to make sure the information is accurate.

It looked like Grand Case with Anse Marcel in the background, and the ever familiar Creole Rock just offshore.

:15 seconds in looks like the corner of Bistro Caraibes and Ocean 82. It's pretty beat up.
