to me, this seems a bit more important than people asking about their vacation security deposits!

Please stop....there are many topics that have always been discussed here. Certainly there are urgent matters and those that are less urgent. Doesn't mean they shouldn't all be discussed by those who are interested.

If you have no interest if someone if worried about a security deposit, skip it. Doesn't mean it's not an important issue to them.

Sorry, but it reminds me of one time a few decades ago,
when I was standing over two smoldering dead bodies, who died within the last 30 minutes violently, and some couple had the gall to approach me to ask some stupid question, like the directions to some restaurant.

Sometimes certain discussions or dumb questions are inappropriate and I have very little patience for them.

I am really not trying to pick on anyone.
Let's just all try to do what is helpful and/or appropriate
considering what is actually going on, on the island at the moment.

Opening a thread about who has the "best Pizza" does not fall into that category, but I would not be surprised if someone started one.

I would certainly take that shock journalism article with a grain of salt. At the very least calling it a "civil war," or quoting the statement and trotting it up 8 times on the page when it is nothing of the sort gives you some indication of the quality of the news source.

It could be slightly exaggerated but I have been in contact wth a friend on the island and owns a business on the island and he pretty much said the same thing.
