Proud to be a Navy Vet. and hope some critical of our military will also acknowledge and applaud their efforts.

Agree, a fast, large, and well executed emergency response...that has only just begun.

In the US our armed forces are non-political...we take an oath to "support and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies...foreign and domestic," ...and as seen in the current crisis... severe weather.

...just ask the Coast Guard about the last one - they live it every day.

Thank-you for your service, but during this urgent situation, why don't we all keep the posts limited to information that needs to be shared vs. telling everyone about one's own military service.

Kudos to all who serve and have served, and objections to those who try to constantly bully others into silence on any point.

The best we can each do is to return to SXM as soon and as often as we can, to spread the positive word to encourage others to visit there, and to make personal donations. The vast amounts of money we spend there in timeshare taxes, resort taxes, taxes on food, entertainment & purchases, generous tips to every service provider we encounter all fuel their economy. So keep it coming. I may "partake of their services" but I'm pretty sure I pay a pretty penny for "partaking."The UN does nothing well, our resources are limited in the US with more than our share of disaster relief needed, and the truism is that "Charity begins at home." Holland and France are quickly accepting the fact that rebuilding is mainly their responsibility, Bravo! A lot of people deserve credit for helping in this situation, as do ALL those who serve our country in the military or as 1st responders. Prayers to all. Your comments are welcome to me.
