Any news of SVI damage and Fajardo....how did the marina do? Are there repair facilities there or are they damaged? Also, any news of Cruz Bay? Thanks.

We have friends with boats on the hard in Puerto del Rey boatyard. Very little if any damage. Even the dry storage racks were fine.

PR lucked out with cat 1 winds the marinas did well except for Isleta Marina which is vulnerable to any West winds, almost every boat at Isleta was damaged.
The only damage at Puerto del Rey Marina was to the few idiots who left their Bimini tops up.

THe island of Vieques came out amazingly unscathed. They just got power back on 9/13 but the island is fully operational and they want to welcome people back. Not even any beach erosion or vegetation damage. They really lucked out. Some of my on island friends have been flying and boating over supplies to the VI's. They have also brought back evacuees from St. John and Tortola. All on their own dime. Culebra had slightly more damage but they are ok as well. There are great people in Puerto Rico. Please go visit.

This is wonderful news. We love the SVI and have cruised there three times, chartering from CYOA in St. Thomas.

The storm path for Maria looks like it will hit Vieques more directly than Irma did.

Maria is going to barrel right over the VI, Culebra, Vieques and PR.
It's not going to be pretty after the next two days.

Yes. Cruel to the region.
Irma whacked the eastern VI's, and Maria whacked the western VI's & St. Croix. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Spook.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Shocked.gif" alt="" />
