Related question, has anyone RENEWED in the last 6 weeks or so, and how quickly was your renewal processed, if it has been already?

There are no Global Entry Interview locations in Maine.
I'm guessing the closest will be in Boston but if you go to the Global Entry website you can check to find which location will be best for you.
I renewed my GE online earlier this year. Process was easy and got email with renewal approval in less than a week. No other action on my part was necessary.

Did you get a notification that it was expiring?

If you have a question you should start your own thread !

If you click on reply on his post it will direct your comment to him, rather than to the last poster on the thread.

Fletch, did you receive a new card or did they just renew the old one? We're about to renew ours.

Mine will expire while I'm traveling so I'm doing mine early as well. Good to hear they are being turned around so fast.

I just looked at my card and it expires next year on my birthday (not acceptance date). Is that a coincidence or do all expire on the holders' birthday

All expire on birthdays. You can apply for renewal a year in advance. When you get it they just extend the date for five years from the expiring birthday date. Renewed ours recently. Took about three weeks. No requirement for us to have another interview. New cards showed up a couple of days later.

So, it CAN be used at the airport for the TSA folks. You don't need to carry it if you don't want, but is delivered as a by-product from CBP of a Global Entry application. This is not the the same card as the NEXUS / Trusted Traveler or "passport" card. I think you may be getting these confused.

Suppose so, as Passport Cards are valid for domestic air, and international land and sea travel and not for international air travel. ========== Passport Cards
