We went to Ocean 82 in Grand Case in February and I had an absolutely wonderful steak. I ordered the Beef Tenderloin. I would definitely recommend that meal and location.

I don't usually do steak on the island but I'd avoid the Pelican if I were you.

This is just one person's opinion but the last time we were at Bajatzu, either last November, or January, I thought the steak was merely so-so and perhaps a little more expensive than past visits but I'm not really sure about the latter. I don't recall what I didn't like about it but I do know both DH and I didn't bother going there in April. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't out of this world like they used to be either.

A couple of Novembers ago, we had an awesome grilled rib eye steak at, of all places, the little place at the rear of the Ocean Club - I think it's called the Green Monkey? It wasn't fancy and the place itself is very small but someone staying there had recommended their rib-eye night - it was only $25.00 pp - so we tried it and thought it was very good. But I personally like rib eye steak and I know some don't, and I like a more casual setting, which this certainly is. I don't know if they still offer the special and if yes, I don't know what night it was but you might check it out beforehand to see if they still have it and when........

Since you're staying in the Maho area, I'd check out Le Moulin Fou and see if they have steak on their menu - I'm pretty sure they do but not absolutely positive. I've never had anything there that wasn't terrific, both in quality of food and service and the setting is convenient and nice, particularly if Cheri's is closed and you can dine al fresco without the noise from down below.

There are a gazillion places that have very good steaks but basically, it's a matter of what you like and how you like it along with how far you want to travel for dinner.

The smoked ribeye at Harry's was fantastic. Had it twice.

Agree with SXMScubaman. Tried Harry's for the first time and the smoked ribeye was the best. Unlike any other ribeye I've had before. Will be going back on next trip.

I think the best steak on the island is the fillet at LaVilla. Price fixe entire meal.....appetizer....entree, and dessert...49 bucks....!!!!! And it is always so soft and tender, don't even need a steak knife.

We always have one meal at LaVilla. They've been so nice to us over the years (dang that sounds like an old guy talking).

I've never had a bad steak at Bajatzu. I either get the
filet or steak delmonico <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> (bone in ribeye). The Stone Restaurant in Cole Bay (now) moved from Simpson Bay Beach Resort also has a delicious filet. Can't go wrong w/either IMO.....

Is the Harry's that was mentioned the same place that used to be in the Marina where Boca is now? We may have to try Harry's. Looks like it gets great reviews.

Le Moulin Fou had one of the best steaks on island, right there for you in Maho. Hidden Forest Cafe is another one of my favorite steaks on island and both of these places are consistently good.

Cheers,
Todd

I'm not sure if it's still offered on the Dreams menu, but this was not only the best beef we've ever had on the island, it was the best MEAL we've ever had.

The prime rib for two is still listed on their menu.

Thanks. I didn't look for it when we were there this year, as I knew I wasn't that hungry when I was there. It was FABULOUS though. We will have to do it again sometime.

Just saw this, but my vote goes to Spiga in Grand Case. Incredibly tender with zero waste; just amazing filet mignon.

Isn't that how a true filet mignon should be?

The very best steaks on island bar none were the prime new yorks we brought from home and bbq'd on our deck overlooking Simpson bay. Hard to beat.

Oyster Pond... Le Planteur before the entrance to Captain Oliver's. The best steak I have had on island. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />

It was pretty good. We went for the roast meat night on Sunday and later in the week for a steak. Meals were great. Price was OK and service was very good.

I should know this but - where is Harry's and how do you get there? Is there plenty of parking and is it safe to assume it's a very casual place?

Sounds like a nice vacation and good you made it home ahead of the storm concerns. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />
