We've tried to visit Cupecoy Beach a few time in the past few weeks but the entrance is always chained off and Danny is not there. Hope he's just on holiday.

When we were there July 14th (Bastille Day) we heard that it was his last weekend and that he would be taking a vacation for a while. We asked him about it and and he said, "No man, I'm always here. Smooth!".
There is another entrance to that area just on down towards the Blue Mall. He only has that one end for parking. You could park on the other end and walk to the beach on his end. No one owns that beach.

Dany is in the US on vacation. John should be there, if not you have to hoof it!

Thanks for the replies. The new entrance by Blue Mall is nice when it's open.

Just wondering how they have the right to charge for parking at a public beach.
But now I think about the good times, down in the Caribbean sunshine...

The beach is public, but Dany pays rent to the owner of the land above it where the parking is, and in turn charges to park there. There is free parking in the lot next to the Ocean Club for those who don't want to pay.

Actually, I was just looking at a Google maps satellite image of Cupecoy and the paved parking lot between the brush and the Ocean Club is marked on the map as "Cupecoy Beach Public Parking." Glad to know that. I always thought that little lot was parking owned by the Ocean Club. If there's a sign there that says public parking for Cupecoy Beach, I guess I never noticed it.
