..is no threat to SXM, islands to the south being deluged with rain. The next one behind it though, looks like it will at least come very close to SXM. The one behind that looks to be a fish storm though. Those going down soon should keep an eye out!!

It's sunny now but very hazy. Slight chance of showers today and tonight. Hope they hold off, we have reservations for lobster night tonight at L'astrolabe around the pool.

Looks like some rain and wind for Saturday & Sunday due to the disturbance passing to the north.

Carol, thanks for the link to the hurricane center. We'll be leaving in 3 weeks so you know I'll be watching it closely.

If something is really going on, I look at some other sites too, but the NHC is the easiest to keep track of.

Forecasters around here anyway call a storm that basically just stays out to sea and doesn't threaten land, a "fish storm". I'm not exactly sure whether it means that only the fish see it, or are affected by it, or what.

Disturbance number 2 and 3 are still there, although low probability of development. Not sure what you mean by 'all gone'. Harvey is currently not a named storm, but could re-develop.

Yes, those particular storms are no longer a threat to SXM, but I just didn't understand what you meant by 'all gone'..

The first outer bands reached Austin Friday afternoon - it is now Sunday afternoon & the rain has not stopped - we are fortunate because we are not getting the heavy rains like they are in Houston & the Texas coast. My heart is breaking for the destruction along the Texas coast. The rain in Austin should stop by Thursday.

Take care, stay safe and best wishes to all there in Texas in the path of the floods. And remember, everyone, do NOT drive through standing water!

Hey Berne and Gary - we are from SA and so far we have only received 2 inches of rain. You guys have gotten a lot more than us. My little fishing town of 50 years, Port O'Connor, got hammered just like Rockport and Port A. Thankfully SXM missed this one.

One more churning up in the Atlantic. Looks like a good chance of development.

Prayers for the people of Texas. What we're seeing is heart-breaking and the potential exists for things to worsen considerably. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Just noticed this one on the same link:
"Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten, located off the southeast U.S. coast.

We are heartbroken over what happened in Port A - our favorite Texas beach town - we were just there over Father's Day weekend with our 4 grandsons & were planning another trip for October.

We're experiencing #10 here in Eastern North Carolina now. It's just a rainmaker where we are; nothing compared to Harvey. It's almost embarrassing to see it on the news.
