Saw what appears to be a lovely condo for rent at this location via VRBO, and was wondering if the reviews are legit. The photos of the interior are spectacular and the price seems way too low per night, even for second week of
October.... under 100 per night. Does anyone here have any experience at this location, Princess Heights ? Thanks...

Great place with great views. Extra large patio and a community gas grill. Two buildings one with a elevator one without. You are on a steep hill so walking is not easy. You can walk to the beach and the Weston. Has a pool not crowded.
Wife and I loved the acommodations very well equipped. Staff was very helpful. Parking spaces were available. Mr Busby,s for breakfast and for lunch "The Splash" were very good <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

As the other response said, it's a beautiful place. At least some of those units are individually owned, so someone might have had a cancellation, or just trying to fill the unit during a slow time.

We haven't stayed there but did inquire for a friend a while back. Everyone who stayed there said the same thing - a great place but - hope you don't get the building with no elevator. Luggage in and out were the only complaints we got and we got a lot of responses.

One member here stays there a couple of times a year and has great things to say about the property and another member (who I think may still be a member or may have moved on to Facebook....) liked it so much they purchased a condo at the property.

That should say something but I would suggest you purchase trip insurance due to the time of year you're looking at. Enjoy! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Thanks, Pat. The owners say that their unit is two flights of stairs up from the main level parking lot or two flights of stairs down from the upper level parking lot, so even if this IS the building with no elevator, this shouldn't be much of an issue, I suspect.

Dawn Beach doesn't sound particularly appealing, due to the rough surf, but we spend most days at Club Orient and other beaches, anyway.

David,

I never particularly cared for Dawn for swimming because tof the somewhat rougher surf there, but I think it's one of the prettiest of all the different beaches, island wide. Back in the day pre Westin and the hurricane of '95 (? I think?) when Dawn Beach Resort was still there, we used to drive over for photo ops and a drink at the beautiful bar that was a part of Dawn Beach Resort, sadly now all long gone.

And having been there before you know that half the joy of SXM is the ability to get out and enjoy so many different beaches all on one tiny island. Have fun wherever.......

Yes. We have stayed there three years in a row, new building. We had a two bedroom apt and loved it. Very clean and spacious. We drove every day to Orient.

Really re-thinking our decision six years ago to buy a LaPlage timeshare from a friend of ours. Wasn't particularly expensive.... $3500, but looking online at what's available to just rent a la carte, it makes more sense to sell the timeshare and just rent when and where we want. There are so many nicely-appointed places on the island, with more updated decor. At the very least, I think we're gonna rent LaPlage out in '18, and try Princess Heights, or someplace on Orient, or over at Grand Case. Just need a change of pace....

We own a condo at Les Balcons which is just across the pond from Princess Heights, and usually go to Orient every day. The commute is an easy one; no traffic to speak of, 15 minute ride.
