Bad news for Belair and Divi folks. Property opposite sports complex is on the access road from Bush Road to Belair area.

I don't know where there is, despite Tom's statement. Can anyone state better where it is?

The building is to be constructed of pre fab sections shipped in from China, so the island isn't even going to get the benefit of the construction jobs that should have been created. Also an interesting list of "donations" to the island. Wonder if those will actually happen and be put to any use that benefits the average citizen.

Carol, Sorry for your confusion. Welgelegen Road (Sports complex) is only road connecting road from Bush road roundabout and Belair area. Looks like Mullet Beach area dodged impact of this project. Tom

It's my ignorance of the area that was the problem.

Well, Carol, good thing you never travel into that area because traffic will be hell with this project. Better you stay at Beachside Villas and enjoy the view! That is if SXM gov't doesn't wipe it out with their plan for moving the road due to the stupidity of people plane watching.

I really can't imagine that happening... There is no place to 'move' BSV to, and the costs would be astronomical. No one would support that..

That's correct, just about zero construction jobs for the island. Most all of China's worldwide projects involve imported materials and labor from China. Wonder where they will get all the water and energy for these projects. Wow...how nice donating $75,000 worth of stuff, hope its new. Oh...and not to mention the Chinese men in their tidy whities gawking at the naked people on Orient Beach. Will be pining for the good old days when it was only the boat people.

That USED to be (if this comes to fruition) our route into P-Burg.
The roundabout with One-Tete Lohkay, near the Griffin school....straight into Front Street at the cemetary.

Apologies for the generalization and I mean no disrespect to anybody. At US nude public beaches observed on many occasions, groups of unaccompanied males in said undies would gawk in mass. Perhaps they don't own bathing suits or that's the normal back home? When your thousands of miles from home and family, working weeks on end and your male ...where are you going to go when you get some time off? Again my premises is based on assumption that the Chinese construction firm follows standard SOP of importing their labor.

There are freighters and merchant marine crews from all over the world that come into the harbor and go on shore leave. They have never posed an issue to me or anyone else to my knowledge.
Ugly generalization.
