Thank you all for posting your trip reports, opinions etc as it has made our planning so much easier.
We had visited SXM four or five times via cruise ship and decided to take the plunge this year and rented two different villas in Orient Bay for 11 days.
Uneventful trip Cleveland-Charlotte-SXM. Met SXMLoc for our rental car at airport and off to villa to meet Phillipe to go over villa. We are at the roundabout going down to Orient Bay so close to Yellow Sub, Bikini Beach etc.
Our first stop was to Grand Marche to load up on supplies for the 11 days. Spent probably to much on groceries. Before that stopped at Sarafinas for lunch which we would eat back at the villa. We purchased the Travel Pass through Verizon for the duration at $10 per day. I know you guys always say you don't need a GPS but for the guy who doesn't come here every year it works out great.
For Supper had to hit Marks place for their ribs that a lot talk about. Good choice, hard to find good ribs where we live in Ohio.
Down to Bikini Beach for the first drink, back to villa for a splash in the pool to cool off and our first half day in SXM is complete.
Will try to post about each day as the trip reports on here have helped us tremendously and hope to help others.
We are acutally on day 3 so already behind.

And what is the name of the villa or villas that you have rented. We have stayed in a variety of villas in the Orient area for almost 20 years now and have enjoyed everyone of them. Tell us about your villa.

Nice report thanks! We've heard that some of the Orient beach bars have entertainment on Sunday Afternoons. May want to check that out.

In June this year, LaPlaya had entertainment on Sunday afternoon, I think a two piece duo. Again in June this year, Kakao did not.

https://www.vrbo.com/920009ahttps://www.vrbo.com/381539?unitId=381539Someone asked about the villas we rented, they are above. Got both on VRBO, we do enjoy our private pool and I'm sure the 2nd villa will be just as nice. We will hit at least one of the restaurants in the Village, probably Le Piment and will post our review
