We will arrive on island this Saturday...HIP HIP HOORAY!!! I'm looking for recommendations for the best happy hours, places and times. I haven't had luck locating the time for Dinghy Dock's HH. (Had the most delicious passionfruit Absolute there last trip!) Also, by the looks of it on facebook it appears that Lagoonies is on vaca (bummer because we were going to try it out on this trip). Does anyone know when they reopen?
Additionally, I love love (yes, more than one love) the ginger rum that Pat's Roadhouse serves. Any suggestions on where I can purchase a bottle of such deliciousness? I looked at the Marigot market last trip but couldn't find ginger.
Thank you in advance!

W&T,
Don't know if they buy or make it but if I were you, I'd start there and ask them. Some places create their own (or have someone do it for them) and resell it to their patrons. Good luck and happy vacation.
Respectfully,
pat

As I recall, Ma DouDou used to make a ginger rum. They are available about everywhere.
I like the happy hour at the Greenhouse. 2 for 1 drinks and reduced price apps, every day. I think it's like 4-7 PM

We think the best happy hour is at the St. Maarten Yacht Club, next to the Dutch Side bridge. Best fresh bloody Mary's on the island. And where else can you watch multi-million dollar Mega Yachts come in through the bridge at 5 pm, along with a lot of other sailboats and catamarans while sipping a $2 beer???

Pretty sure Pat's Roadhouse is history.
Lee's has a drink special every night.

The Greenhouse is in Simpson Bay, yes. (Well, they have one in Philipsburg too, but I was referring to the Simpson Bay location.) Greenhouse is located right by the Atrium, on Billy Folly Road.

The Greenhouse Happy Hour in low season used to be from 11-7. Can't beat that. I was surprised during the afternoon when the drinks were 2 for 1 and this is what they told me.

There's always the Perch, 2:30-3:30, 2 for one and hopefully Willy is there, mixologist extraordinaire!

I second The Yacht Club. The bartenders are fun.

If I remember , Dinghy Dock/OysterPond has their pour your own Happy hour from 5-7pm. Assume the Simpson Bay has same. St Maarten Yacht Club from 4-6 is great especially for the appetizers/snacks. Grouper Fingers/ribs/ others 3 for $25. A real meal.
Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Most bar\restaurants on Dutch side have happy hours within the 4 -6/7p timeframe. Our favs are Sint Maarten Yacht Club, Dingy Dock and Greenhouse.
Pat's Roadhouse is indeed gone for now. Patrick is at Harry's.

Thank you all for your input! St Maarten yacht club has been our favorite for the 3 apps for $25 (deputy dog...the grouper fingers are AMAZING-& we live in Florida...grouper kingdom) & yes...they have superb bloody mary's! Dinghy Dock has been our favorite for the pour your own, although the one time we went there for that little gem, 1 cocktail put me way over the limit...not that I'm complaining.
How could Pat's be gone!?! Say it isn't so!!! We were just there last August!! (Shedding a tear as I type this)
I guess Greenhouse is the one we'll have to try this trip. The Perch is a given, as we are Club O junkies! Since we are staying there for the first time this trip we may not make it off proporty. Lol. #lightweight

Bistrot Caraibes makes & sells their own ginger rum.

Topper's - 2 for 1 from 1 to 6 daily. Parking is easier than most others and their prices are reasonable to start with. Food is pretty good too.
