From the article... "He was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for possession of a firearm and ammunition."

He was "cautioned?" What the heck does that mean!?!

Yikes.
Glad they have this guy back in custody. Let St. Kitts keep him.

I suspect that's a legal term from St. Kitts.

How on earth could he have "legally" entered the island?!?!?

In prison, wouldn't they take away your passport and id?

Or he's really connected and got counterfeits, and weapons! Yikes! Bad bad dude.

The term "cautioned" has multiple meanings in the British criminal justice system. It can mean nothing more than the giving of a Miranda type warning. Or, it can mean the offering of a type of plea deal that makes formal prosecution unnecessary for particular charges.

No. Didn't say illegally.

Probably a misprint or just poor writing in general. A boat on a beach is usually not considered a legal entry. Good thing this guy has been picked up and hopefully the Kittians can keep him in jail, unlike the prison staff at Pt. Blanche. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Actually, your quote is correct and also boucharda's comment is correct. In the first part of the article is where you copied your quote from and later on in the article it states that "He was also charged with entering the Federation illegally".

The article implies that when he was first apprehended the arresting officers thought he arrived legally but after investigating they must believe that is not the case since they have charged him with illegal entry.

Daily Herald story Not surprised that St. Kitts got rid of him. Hopefully he won't get away again, since he apparently murdered a couple of people after he escaped the first time.

Lets hope that when he's back he won't be taken to any more medical appointments
