We have two families (total 8 people) flying into Beef Island. Moorings is quoting $18 pp one way. How much would a taxi cost? Can anyone recommend a charter service?
ThAnks again for everyone's help.

In June, Sebastian Transportation charged $9 pp one way from the ferry dock to Hodges Creek Marina, a little over 4 miles, for 11 people. Beef Island looks like another 3.5 miles or so. Knock off .5 miles because you are going to the Moorings, not the ferry dock, so 7.0 miles. $18 pp may not be too far off.

The published taxi fare for 3+ people from the Beef Island airport to Wichham's Cay II is $12pp each way. Each passenger gets 1 free bag and additional bags (including handbags/backpacks/etc) are $1 each. Mooring should be able to honor that rate.

The Moorings charges the standard fares. You can use their service or just grab a cab. Same cost. G

Those fare cards are dated November 2010. Are the taxis still charging fares almost 7 years old?

If you use the Moorings transportation you may have to wait for other groups to fill up the bus or buses. We always take a taxi so we are not sitting waiting for others to clear C&I.

ThAnks again for everyone's help. $144 for a 5 mile drive is totally outrageous

That, and sometimes the entire safari van gets to sit and wait while two of the passengers get cocktails from inside the airport. 10 minutes waiting for those jack a#%#% that just had to have a drink for the ride.
