A few years ago we could find cheap flights but I'm not seeing much now under $650ish without taking 1am flights.

Starting to look at BWI or EWR but also wondered if anyone has found better pricing by going to MIA or SJU then taking a smaller Caribbean airline that doesn't show up on code sharing sites.

Any suggestions for places to look that I might be missing? Traveling with 4 adults with potential for two more in mid October.

Speaking as a person from Florida, there are not really any deals from Florida to SXM. As far as from SJU, the flights from there to SXM aren't any bargains either. And it is really pretty risky to book two different tickets like that. If you miss your first flight, you are scr*wed, as you will be counted as a 'no show' on your second flight, and they don't have to honor your ticket at all.. The very best prices to SXM are ALWAYS from the NYC/Newark area. That would be your best bet for getting a cheaper flight.

The price of flights have gone up every year. Any flight that involves Sat., Sun. or Fri. are high. We just booked for 4 weeks, Sun. to Fri. for $608.00. We are giving up the first Sat. and the last Sat. to save a significant amount of money. Our friends are coming to visit Wed. to the following Thurs. for $522.00. We fly out of Hartford. As someone said NY & Boston have the best prices but it would be a hassle for us.

We're flying out of PHL in Nov., for $571, non-stop RT. Found the fare on Kayak, booked directly with AA. Leaves Philly at 9AM.

We booked our tickets back in late May on AA, got them for $460 PP, decent price maybe cause it's low, low season.

$460 is good. When are you going? We did see some lower fares from BWI, but they got down there much later in the day. We've been flying out of EWR for quite a while, but this year their prices in Nov. were even higher.

<img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />Going on Monday 7/31. We arrive in SXM about 1:30pm. The return trip is not great only 2 hr, 20 min to connect in MIA then back to BWI at 11:30pm.

We live in PHL-ville too and also hit SXM in Nov. For the last 2 years and for this year coming we fly out of JFK. Each year (including this year) we've been flying nonstop for $380. We live just 20 minutes from PHL but will gladly drive 2 hours to save $500! Check it out.
