I didn't want to hijack Amigo's post, but discussions about how your favorite places have changed over the years got me thinking this morning. We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by visiting the Georgetown corner bar that we met at many moons ago, it no longer has the same name and it didn't look or feel the same, but great memories just the same. Trying to recapture that back in the day "feeling" has never worked for me. During our upcoming trip we plan to visit the place where she said "Yes!" after I asked her father for his permission from the outdoor pay phone at Gallows Point! Love City has changed greatly and it won't have that "feeling", but great memories just the same. Our daughter is only 22 with many Caribbean trips under her belt, even she comments that certain places have really changed and don't feel the same. I can't imagine what changes she'll see by the time she's my age. So called progress and all the development that goes along with it concerns me in many places, not just the islands, but great new memories are around every corner! Many of you go way way back in the day, I'd love to see some of your older photos! Cheers! We've been sailing the BVI's since 1982 and have definitely seen many changes since those days. I remember when the Soggy Dollar was the only establishment on White Bay and Daphne would mix painkillers in whatever cups were available, and the ingredients were supposed to be secret.I also have great memories of Stanley's Welcome Bar and the steel drum band that used to play there. Very few catamarans and no mooring fields in those days. In spite of the changes and increased crowds, we still keep coming back. Looking forward to next May. It's always a great adventure.

Over the 15 years I've been on TTOL there have been countless old photos shared. How many remember Big Jim and his love of Jost??
