We're about to. Just want to know what kind of turnaround was experienced by anyone who has already renewed G/E.

we did about a month ago. you have to go on the gov website you used to join and logon to your account. someplace on there is a tab to renew. I think it was $50 and the new card came in the mail about 2 weeks later. I think the site was ."goes" something. Hope that helps.

Every 5 years. I am pretty sure the renewal fee is the same as the original fee, $100. $50 is the fee for Nexus.

We renewed our Global Entry about 6 months ago. Process was easy - filled out the renewal form online and, if memory serves me right, we got an email with renewal approval less than a week later. Our new ID card arrived in the mail a few days after that.

Did you get an alert that it was expiring?

No, but it expires early next year and I want to renew it well before I start a lot of flying this Fall. Good to hear turnaround is quick! They last 5 years.

While we had opted for an "alert" notification when we first got GE we did not get the actual alert because I renewed a bit early (you can do so up to 6 months prior to expiration). We were planning to be out of the country for an extended period around the time our GE was to expire so rather than wait I renewed it about 3 months early.

Charlotte was several months out when we got ours, but I kept checking daily and caught a cancellation for one appointment. I made that one for myself, then called and made arrangements for my husband to have his interview at the same time. It worked perfectly, especially since Charlotte is a 4 1/2 hour drive from our home.

I renewed about 18 months ago and had to present myself in person at DFW to be finger printed and the don't do this lecture. Took 11 minutes. More of an annoyance than anything. Pain in the backside as I live in Tulsa, flew down at 6am, back in Tulsa at 11am.

Odd that you had to be fingerprinted again. I sure hope that's not standard procedure!
Edited to add: I found this on the GOES website:
"Upon renewal, you may be required to interview again. This is determined by the vetting center and the determination cannot be appealed. If conditionally approved, you will need to schedule an interview to finalize your renewal if you still wish to be a member."

And I renewed about a month ago, and did not have to be re-interviewed. Just fill out a form on the GOES site and in a few weeks, got an acknowledgement that it was approved.

Did you have to get a new picture or anything?
Or just do it by mail?

The picture is from your passport...if you need that renewed then you will need a new picture. The application for GE renewal is online and is completed, fee paid and submitted online Log in here: GOES FAQ's also available on that site to answer questions

Slightly off topic, but we just returned from Heathrow to JFK and using Global Entry got us through customs in less than five minutes. Well worth having.
