DAY 1 Easy limo to Newark. Flight over booked. Steve’s bag was checked going through – due to Ray’s Pork Roll. The things friends do for friends. After denying we intended to eat it or share it today, we were allowed through and found our gate. Gate Attendant requested vounteers to be bumped and take Monday flight and be comped with $400 travel voucher, then First Class seats on Monday and $500 travel voucher. We finally boarded and waited 35 minutes while the luggage was off loaded to find the 3 pieces which belong to people who did NOT make the flight, but who had checked luggage. No meal, purchased snacks only. Due to Tropical Storm Tomas, our route was changed and added time. The last 45 minutes was extremely bumpy, but we landed safely.
Mickey was waiting for us with our little orange getz- which we later learned had funky windshield wipers…a trip to Tropical-Tropicana tomorrow am. Picked up our phone at Sharon’s – she gets back on island on the 13th. Need to stop in and say hi next Sunday! Then rolled on into Pelican. We’re in the lower B bldg. with a prime view of the parking lot, and the sea. Back down to BBB for a quick bite, then back up to relax.
Lots of showers and down pours. When it let up we ran to Jimbo’s (missed him) for a quick dinner. Since we go up at 4AM, we are heading to bed fairly early.
