I don't know about Atlanta, but here in Central Florida, we have had almost daily afternoon thunderstorms since the 1st of June. I haven't looked at the on-time performance of planes from Tampa or Orlando in the past week, but I would imagine it has not been good in the afternoon lately.
Coming back from SXM, our flight from CLT to BOS was delayed about 2.5 hours waiting for a crew from Ft. Lauderdale that was stuck on the ground waiting for storms to pass. We were already going to be late getting into Boston. Landed at 2:30 am. That was a long day...
We were scheduled for flight 908 out of Atlanta on 6/3. The flight was overbooked and they started their offers for two people to stay at $800.00 a piece. With no takers they finally got to $2000.00. Since we're here for two weeks I had to pull the trigger. Worked out great. Stayed at the Sheraton and received first class tickets for Sunday. Now we have enough for 5 tickets put back for the next year. Already making plans for those extra trips. Thank you Delta.
