We have heard a lot of talk about upgrades at beachside villas. They are working hard on one villa that is two villas from the right of villa #5 (ocean view from front), but they have not done any upgrades to any other villas. The grills are still as normal as they have always been. We are enjoying what they have to offer now and if they never changed anything it would be find with us, this is such a piece of heaven. We had such a difficult decision today at the pool, wether to sit so we could look at the planes or the cruise ships, that were leaving out. This is our first full day and we have had the most amazing day. And we spent the day at Drifwood and the walk was only 15 minutes from beach side villas!

Sorry, your post is kind of confusing. I'm not 100% certain, but I am pretty sure that they have completed #1 and #2, #13 and #14, and #9, and I think a couple of others. Not sure what unit you are in but pretty sure that #12 and #10 are not completed.

Enjoy your stay there. There is no better place to stay, in my book. I was there the end of March to beginning of April. When we left, I know #'s 1,2,6,13, and 14 were done. after that I can't tell you which ones were done. You are so right, BSV is a piece of heaven.

Wingman--makes sense they have done 6, as that is where Yolanda usually stays. #9 is definitely renovated also, according to Drew.

Personally speaking, and certainly not with the level of experience here as so many of you, renovated or not - I think the OP will love BSV regardless. I marveled at how they have managed to meet every need you could possibly have to make a vacation enjoyable. It's about perfect and I hope they enjoy it as much as we did.

Carol, we stand corrected, you were 100% right. The units you listed have been renovated! And they look rather nice. Marilyn tooks us inside #8 today and showed us around (we are the only ones here at present). They have the new counters in the kitchen where the windows were, they removed the slider and enclosed the atrium with two sky lights.
What confused us was we were following the conversation on 5/1/17 about BSV with Pat and there was mention of the grills being placed outside. There are no grills outside at the present time, and our villa is the same as last time. We found out today how that will work. Marilyn explained when people check in, they will return the grill back into the old atrium where it use to be. If you wish to grill out, just roll it out onto the patio and grill. When your done you can either return the grill back to the atrium, or have it remain on the patio. Sorry about the confusion! Our time here so far has been an absolute dream!

OK, I hadn't heard that #8 was renovated. Overall, I think it will definitely be an improvement. But aa you said, any trip at Beachside is wonderful! Enjoy the rest of your stay.

....can't imagine rolling a gas BBQ through the living room.....maybe out the front door, and certainly won't want to try to move it back....

It's a small BBQ but it does sound like somewhat of a pain, especially as the atrium floor is lower. I really don't know how many people use the grill. We use it ALL the time, but a lot of people may not. We definitely will just leave it out back while we are there.

We LOVE walking into Maho from BSV (or this past April from Mary's Boon). Driftwood is a favorite of ours! Enjoy your stay! Have to agree, the units look great!
