We are coming down for our 3rd trip on the 27th and I notice the forecast is cloudy with good chance of rain all week. Is there tropical front coming that I don't know about?

There's no tropical disturbances in the Atlantic at the moment but there's a few short showers on a daily basis.
June 1 is the beginning of the Hurricane season (rainy season) so it's really starting to warm up.

stop looking at the weather forecast and have a great time, it might rain every day for a few minutes

We have almost always had great weather - at least enough so that its how I remember all our trips. Yet if I check the weather prior to each trip, every long term forecast looks the same - clouds and rain. It might rain every day, but often it just goes through quick and is refreshing.

We just returned and the weather said rain for all 8 days we were there. It rained one night for a half hour and one morning at 5:00 am for about an hour. Best thing in the world is laying in your bed on the boat and listening to rain!

Skyped this morning with Kim and Ward at Leverick and they said the weather is amazing right now and looks as though it will be staying that way. Wheels up in 3 days...

Is the Sahara dust a rusty brown colour?

Yep - at The Moorings base getting ready for the week. Beautiful morning and the forecast looks great. The crew is sleeping, Comfortably Numb oozing out of the Bluetooth speaker and the coffee tastes great. There's a huge cruise ship in the harbor and I'm very happy not to be on it. Have fun out there people!

It's kinda hazy that's all ... Greyish Iinsteady of the normal blue blue sky and sea. When it gets bad it does leave a yellow dust about ( according to local friends)

Not sludgy. BTW most times the Saharan dust is a reddish brown.

The dust itself, and I have swept it of my topsides many times is brown, very fine particles, but the hazy skies affected by it are very grey.

Can't see St Thomas from Cane Garden Bay at all today. It's been mostly obscured for a couple of weeks...

Looks like a steady wave of it all the way across the Atlantic.

How long does this haze usually last? This is a disappointment knowing the skies will be gray the whole time we will be there. We'll be there June 9

The Saharan air layer keeps us save from hurricanes.

Sitting in Leverick Bay right now. The rain two nights ago cleared the skies and all that haze is gone.

We left Leverick Bay this morning and had a lovely four hour sail to Peter Island all on one tack. Sitting in Great Harbor now contemplating life, will overnight here :-)
