Yes, I'm new so pardon my ignorance. How many boats does MIT usually have?

I think it's commonly referred to as "Yacht Week."

Yacht Week

MIT Yacht Week

How it works

The MIT Cruise has no connection with The Yacht Week.

We had so much fun a couple of years ago asking "who's TIM??"
They all fly MIT flags but the backside says TIM

We did a wreck dive on the Chikuzen with Sunchasers dive shop out of BEYC two years ago. The Chikuzen is about half way between North Sound and Anegada (middle of nowhere). The dive boat captain told our group we were going to meet up with a group of MIT divers coming over on their bareboat from Anegada. We were all supposed to meet at the same time and dive together. Sun chasers was providing their scuba equipment.
We arrived/ waited / no MIT. Our group went ahead and dove. When we surfaced and started to untie the mooring, here comes the MIT bunch. We then waited an extra hour while they dove. By this time, several of the ones in our bunch were spewing into the ocean. That being said, the MIT bunch may have an IQ of 150, but they either need to buy a watch or learn how to tell time.

Found this on a blog:

>>>>In this post I want to share with you an amazing experience that I will highly recommend future MFins to take part in; The annual BVI Trip (British Virgin Island Trip). This is a tradition that takes place every year after exams and has been going for as long as anybody remembers.
The concept is to get a group of 10 or so people together, rent a sail boat and go island hopping at the British Virgin Islands with fellow Sloanies. This year we were 28 boats and a total of almost 300 people. Besides the MIT Sloan Ski-trip in January, when do you ever get to travel with a group like that?<<<<<

27-28 cats this year. Most boats have a seasoned skipper aboard or come with one provided.

Thanks for the info RJC86. Any idea what destinations are on the books while in Virgin Gorda for those two days?

Thanks,

EC

El Cap-

They have taken the dock space at BEYC. Monday night is Music and dancing at the BEYC pub Tuesday is beach Olympics at the Sandbox. Those are the 2 items on the list.

I plan on taking my boat on a morning hike with lunch at FV Café. Prob lots of shenanigans in the sounds with rum and floating.

Awesomeness.

I don't drink Dos XX often...

But if I run into the MIT crew...I might drink them heavily!

Cheers,

EC

LOL, this is our itinerary as well! Anyone know where they are mooring on Jost? I heard they are doing Foxy's BBQ that night, but would like to avoid their bay if possible.

Thanks, sounds like a fun crowd to party with, we are going to the BBQ same night as them (forewarned by Foxy's) just hoping we can get a mooring ball somewhere on the island!

Think outside the Fox. AliBaba's has some good dinner offerings.

Is Foxy's BBQ not recommended? We have 4 boats, 26 people and we've never done it before so it was on our "to do" list for this trip...done Levericks BBQ but not in NGS on Friday this trip.

Nothing wrong with Foxys BBQ. In fact, with 26 people that is probably the only place that can handle that many. Next trip, with a smaller group, try some of the other venues. More to JVD than just Foxys.

You will have a blast, especially with such a large group being there. It will be an amazing night for sure. I am skippering the 52' Voyage 'No Regrets".
