Hello all, been here since Sat and every mooring field has been full. Stariting with Norman , Cooper, Saba Rock, Leverick was almost full, I was on the dock and now ar Cane Garden Bay which is also full. Have seen many boats set the hook or leave. I'm on a Voyage 580. It seems now that the first week in May is a busy week since it's the first of the lower priced rates.

We were there April 8-22, more boats then I have ever seen. I know it was during Easter, but we have been there during Easter in the past and still have not seen it this busy.

Yup! We were there the week after easter, into the next week too, and it was crazy packed everywhere!

Will be there next week, and want to go to the full moon party, Trellis Bay. I suppose I will need to be early in the morning to find a mooring ball ??

I would plan on between 9 and 10 a.m. -- most people head out between 8 and 10....

That being said....you may still have an issue if people get a ball the night before and stay on it....but it's worth a shot!

We were at BEYC last night (Thursday) and there was a lot of availability. Today at Anegada one ball open at 4pm. Might depend on the day of the week.

Is that what that funny hooky thing is hanging on the bow? We anchor everywhere as well, except Cooper. We are less enamored with Cooper than most.

I stopped in at Trellis to show some people the airport location and I thought Trellis was a dump. Had many boats that were old just sitting on a ball like they were being stored there. It's not what is use to be. Get there early for a full moon party. I didn't see many open balls. You can set the hook there if needed.

Cant agree more, Trellis Bay has needed a good cleaning up for many years. It could be such a nice place and used to be. One would think the type of establishments there would do a better job of looking after it.

sail2wind, we were just saying the same thing this trip about Cooper. After our experience this year, I think we'll be skipping it on our next trip. Just not enough there to warrant the hectic mad dash for mooring balls.

There April 18-25 and it was the least crowded Ive seen in maybe a decade. Got a ball at Cooper at 3pm, the baths at 11am, Anegada at 3pm. As I read this thread I realize more than ever that you can not plan anything in the BVI anymore as just too many variables. Just always have a back up plan smile

I sincerely hope most of the traffic is gone by mid July. I want a few anchorages to myself. Don't care that some places are closing, there are plenty left for us, just want peace and quiet. I know going in July we will encounter the PR Navy, but we can usually avoid them when we choose to. With their economy in the tank there may not be as many this year.
