We're going to have crew depart early to St Thomas for a couple of days on our June trip.

Is there a ferry from Jost they can take so they can check check out there?

Or do we need to take them over to WE to check out and get a ferry?

There is a ferry from JVD to STT that travels via St John.

Might be easier to drop off at WE and go direct depending on what time their flight may be.

On a side note - I think my cousin is a police officer in West Chester.

We have taken the early ferry from Great Harbour a few times - easy peezy and you check into the US at STJ - could not be simpler! Just make sure you double-check the schedule.

Thanks for the ferry link. That IS an early ferry but it would work really well for us. The crew is extending their vacation a few days at Frenchman's Reef and we're probably going to take a quiet night somewhere Diamond Cay to dry out after they go. Looking to avoid the stop in WE if our plan wasn't to head there anyway.

RIGIRLY .... small world. I don't know many of the police here but I do work next door to the justice center they all stop in at once in a while. Nice little town here. I'm a New England boy at heart, grew up in CT with college in ME. Lots of friends and family still up there.

One other thing .... what would happen if the crew were staying on SJ for their extended vaca? Would they be able to hit customs on SJ and just leave? I've only done the check in and get back on the ferry thing. I wasn't sure if they could just stay there.

You can depart the C&I office in STJ and not continue on the ferry - no problem.
