OK, so I'm sitting at my desk just now, after what I thought was a perfectly acceptable lunch at my desk, a chef salad. Not exciting, but OK...

Until I saw Pat's lunch at Friar's Bay Beach Club..

Which started off like this..

And then on to roasted camembert <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Love.gif" alt="" /> for Pat..

And a cheeseburger for John..

We could also use some of that warm sunshine. Cool, dreary for at least the next 5 days here. The food sounds wonderful.

Many thanks, Carol, for posting these. It really was a lovely time at the beach and an excellent lunch.

Wish you all could have joined us......

And Walt, to get to Friars Bay from Orient, head back towards Grand Case and by pass it on the main road. Just a little way past the main one way entrance to the village there is a school (At least, I think that's what it is...) on your right and you need to turn right at that general area. When you reach the point of a solid gate marked private in front of you there is a cowpath (exaggerating a bit but not too much...) on your left. Follow it and eventually you will end up in the rear parking lot of FBBC.

And if you miss this this first right turn, about a mile or so down the main road heading towards La Savanna and still on your right, there is a sign for FBBC and FBBeach. This road is a little more civilized than the other and after a few right turns and passing Gutside, also on your right, you will eventually end up in the same beach area but you will need to walk a very small bit to FBBC. If your final destination is Happy Bay, just keep walking the beach to the end and go on up and over the hill and down again to the waters edge. Walking sandals recommended.

FBBC charges for either the chairs or the thick chair mattresses - $8 to $10.00 for one or the other or close to that. No more free ride these days.....but it's such a nice spot and the food is so good that IMHO it's worth it. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Respectfully,

pat
