Was at Lee's tonight...PACKED.....Big article today about the support they are getting from the locals and tourists. They remain very hopeful that they will win and stay put. Ribs and slaw were great as always!!!! Let's all hope for Lee's victory.

My husband and I were just talking about Lee's last night and how much with love the smell of the ribs as we are pulling into the Royal Palm and how it will be so different without the music at night. These are just some of our reminders when we know we are on St. Maarten. Wishing Lees the best so our memories will continue in May.

If someone was paid a decent amount to get Lee's removed for the Marina then it will be totally irrelevant what the opinion of tourists who enjoy the restaurant think.
Pessimistic yes, but appropriate for SXM government

While recently on the island, we talked with someone very knowledgeable about what was going on with Lee's. Yes, Lee's has tons of support from some locals and obvious the tourists, but it is not our decision, it is the owner of the actual property. Don't take this in any negative way against me but, if I was the owner of the land, and I knew that Lee's has only been paying in the ballpark of $250 per/month for rent for many, many, many years, and I knew I could get substantially much more rent, why would I allow the current establishment to stay? Only looking at it from a business owners point of view. Don't judge me, I'm just pointing out facts. I have NOTHING against Lee's! It's going to seem strange not seeing it there or hearing the music! (if they are ordered to vacate)

Wonder who's opening/running the new marina. Not Bobby right? What about SBM? Gonna get crowded in there. I've already seen yachts hitting finger piers trying to maneuver in there. Cheers irina

What belongs to Lee's brother? I thought the land lease belonged to Speetjens? We were told that years ago by someone who was interested in renting some space next to Lee's when it was substantially smaller.
