We will be visiting St Maarten in May and would like to see some airplane landings from the beach bar at the end of the runway. Is there a time of day that is best to see a few landings, especially the jumbo jets...?? Is there a particular day of the week that works best...?
Thanks....
Safe and enjoyable boating.

Most of the larger planes land approximately from 1 to 3 PM. Most of the flights operate as daily flights, so the day of the week doesn't make a huge difference, but there are usually a few more flights on the weekends. By May it won't be as big a deal as now, but also check the cruise ship schedule for when you want to go. If there are more than two ships in, Sunset can get REALLY crazy. Best bet, if you can, is to pick a day when there are no ships in.

Yup...a minimal ships in port day would be ideal. Check the PJIA site or FlightStats for arrival times of the big boys.. PJIA arrivals
