Wind, blowing sand and salt spray could be playing a big part.

The wind has been brutal, especially yesterday with added rain.

It was bad. I saw an aborted landing on Maho Beach Cam and they closed the runway for awhile. CO cam is all clean now!

Winds look high again today, it also looks like there's a lot of seaweed. Hope it better when we arrive the end of March.

I'll never forget the time I looked at the webcam and saw someone actually cleaning it at that moment. What a close-up! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Could it be the good folks at Club Orient don't want the world to see the awful weather of late ?

Most people make reservations so far in advance, they don't worry about the weather (wouldn't do much good to worry about it anyway). Most have a great time, even if there is a little rain.

My comment was tongue in cheek. I haven't cancelled my reservation for the next two weeks but I might change to a beach that wasent so damaged and wind blown if I was booked a couple of months from now.
