Can you be more specific? My statement for 2017 fees, due December 1, 2016, reflected only the normal 5 percent increase.
Do you own in a building that was recently renovated?

Got and paid 2017. Think we got it in either July or August 2016.
Have not received any other statements from Divi as of today.

Was there any explanation enclosed? And again, are you in a unit that was recently renovated? I received a special assessment a few years ago when my unit was being renovated. I'm in Bldg. F.

The person on the Divi Facebook forum posted pictures of two sheets of paper that included this information (as well as info on bonus weeks for prompt payment). I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that those sheets were included with her invoice.

We paid our assessment in 2015 for the renovations of BLDG A & B(we own wk 11/12 in B). As I recall, the fee was equal to the maintenance fee, which I paid in full. The renovations were done last year, so I will see the results soon. Using one of the bonus weeks this year (wk 10). I will give an update when I am there,Mike.

Looks like a good way for the Divi to fill the resort rooms when there are a lot of vacancies and collecting extra MF's they wouldn't get anyway.

If you pay early, they do give you "free bonus weeks", but they still charge you the maintenance fee(when you book them). Nothing is ever free. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

We just received ours as well and saw the same increase. Talked to Divi office and basically got nowhere after talking to two people. I was told I could file a written complaint , but I'm sure I would get some mindless form letter back that would say TOUGH LUCK! Bonus week is totally bogus because you still have to make M.F. for extra week! This is why people don't like Time Shares

What are they doing with the MF's they already collect? Looks like it goes to grounds work. With fees added with little notice coupled with the China Project high rise to be built in that area Divi won't be so attractive a place to stay.

Thanks Bob .
I was only voicing what avenues Divi TS owners may have. I assume if an owner wanted to join a group that is the email you put in this message?
That for sale list is impressive. Still wouldn't make me want to buy.

Received my invoices yesterday... read every word. Nothing about bonus weeks. Also, since I have Non-Mandatory maintenance fees, it says nothing about me not using my timeshares this year, and just paying the special maintenance fees, so if I don't use it, I guess I pay nothing??
I will need to make a call to clear this up.

We too have non mandatory so I'm thinking the same thing. But it will boil down to "pay me now or pay me later." For us it will probably be never. It was nice while it lasted. Figure if they do this again in another 8 years we'll be too old to use it. Got ours yesterday. Envelope contained paper notice with fee amount, return envelope, and a color brochure explaining project description and beautiful photos. Next to last page--one with heading RENOVATION FUNDING PLAN, has a paragraph titled EARLY PAYMENT PLAN INCENTIVES. This reads 10% discount if you pay in full the first year plus tow Bonus Week Certificates. To take advantage call 800-367-4384.
