Had meals at both and both were exceptional, both with service food and value.

Izi is as always with some new employees and some updates to the restaurant. Our group had a veal dish, a shrimp pasta dish and two different pasta only dishes. All were good and nothing left. 3 desserts and some wine were shared and we were all happy. Davide runs a great operation and is always on top of the situation.

Last night was a first visit to Bar Code and another really good meal and value. Two fish and chips, one chicken dish and a burger with 2 of us having drinks. 3 desserts were shared and with tip it was $25 per person. Nice atmosphere, nice people who are trying hard and good to see Bill and Elaine there. A really good value and glad we went. Thanks pat!

Back in December, we also went to Bar Code and IZI. We usually do IZI at least twice in the 2 weeks we are there. At Bar Code I had a hamburger as did my BIL and we both liked it. They even put on the A/C just for my BIL. We also passed Fat Tony's and am curious about that place. Has anyone eaten there?

Fat Tony's is a good place to have cheap but good meal. Pizzas and so on.
I have been there many times and quality is constant.

Weeks,

Not so sure Fat Tony's is quite a meal time destination place but they make a very good pizza there. We ate ours at one of their picnic tables ( I think there are maybe 6-8 max?) but it's kind of like eating at Rosie's tables at Mullet....... but no beach, no servers. And the really good news the night we were there - no flies and no moskies! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> Not a place you think of as a destination dinner spot but the pizza was delicious and big and reasonable.

They get a lot of traffic from the med school and the Summit and the staff at the Towers love their pizza. I have it on good authority their big dawgs and pulled pork are also good but we haven't tried them. I would consider them for take-out on a night we didn't want to do a real dinner out or cook in.... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

ruralcarrier,

Glad you and the crew enjoyed BARCODE. We've eaten both lunches and light dinners there and have always enjoyed them. It's very casual with a very pleasant staff and decor.

Gonna' have to try Izi's one more time next trip. So far we've been unimpressed but who knows - perhaps the third try will be the charm.

Respectfully,

pat

IZI and BAR CODE are two of my favorites. Bar Code is a little hidden jewel and a fun place to spend an evening with friends. The owners are so nice and really want you to enjoy your time there. I found it just after they opened and had a great Grey Cup party there . Glad you and your group enjoyed it too.

JD, where exactly is Bar Code? I've heard and seen it mentioned, but I'm lost as to where it is!

Wait a minute . . . did you say only two of you had drinks??? WTF?? Or did someone get over served on the sunset cruise??!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

Can't wait to see you guys Thursday!

Ate at Fat Tony's for Steak Night last night. Good food, good price. A little chaotic, but just chill out. everything OK. Was a full crowd. Informal. Get your own beer and cider from cooler, condiments and plastic ware at counter etc. Not fine dining, but fun. In Medical School area, not far from Bar Code. Plan to try that next.

Just down the street from the former/old location of FIG, now Escape restaurant. Near the medical school.
