What an idiot! He's gambling at a table and then gets up to rob the casino??? He will be all over video, let alone having talked to a dealer.. Hadn't watched the video before. How casual he is, doesn't care who sees his face.. Wow..

Do these places not even have a security guard? What a joke.

Some do and some don't but none are armed.

As the commercial says (paraphrased):

(Announcing to everyone lying on the bank floor) " I am security guard. I do not stop robberies I just announce when there is one....there is a robbery"

I think it is something like a "security monitor" or a "dental monitor" in the commercials but the point is the same.

I guess the criminal didn't follow the gun laws either.

Unless a "security guard" has a dog trained in bite work (and I have seen a few on the island and talked to the handlers) or a club, they are pretty useless other than their presence.

He is pretty brazen.
One would think with the clarity of the video he should have been arrested within hours.

SXM police could not apprehend him if his name was posted on the video! They just don't get it. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

Security video or handheld???

It's both smile

Someone is using a smartphone to take video of a security system replay. I've done it myself. It's much faster that using the security systems DVR/NVR to capture and transfer the desired footage.

What's interesting is that the Daily Herald story from today says that there were two robbers, but the video was only of the one. Maybe the other robber went to a different casino cage?

He left his gun on the counter while the cashier was getting the cash. Who would do that?

As I was watching I was thinking "grab the damned gun while his hand is in the sack!" Easy to say from behind my keyboard ... plus I'm sure the cashiers are trained to simply comply. It's only money after all.

Unless you have been on the other end of an armed robbery, it is hard to judge.

That's fer sure. These days, it's a good bet there could be a camera anywhere outside one's front door (I even get paranoid in the men's room !). But these bozos don't seem to know or care whether there's a camera in a bank, convenience store, gas station or casino as here.
