I'll be in STT for a couple of days and have a couple of questions. Local knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting a rental car. Is there a better value than the national companies? Someone who can give me a ride back to the CG Station would be really great.

I need a place to park the rental for two nights near either the CG Station or Yacht Grande. Recommendations without breaking the bank?

Thanks in advance.

There is paid parking at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook. Is there not paid parking at Yacht Grande?

this must be new, where and who do you pay. When we had our boat there to do some repairs, they gave us a parking card for our windshield, so we did not get towed, but no fees

You can park at Yacht Haven Grande. Not sure if you are allowed to park overnight. You might check at the office.

I've never seen paid parking at either American Yacht Harbor or YHG. However, they keep pretty careful look out in Red Hook. You can have drinks and dinner, but not overnight. And with the paid parking at the ferry dock closed, parking is a huge mess.

There are several paid lots in St Thomas. I believe there is one at the seaplane terminal and some in Red Hook. People here hate to pay for parking and will park all over to keep from being charged.

Thanks Nutmeg. I called Yacht Haven Grande. They are very happy to support overnight parking for $10/night. They give you a parking card so you can go in and out as you like. That is what I found a few weeks ago at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook. Not surprising since IGY owns both.

Hmm. I didn't know that about American Yacht Harbor. There isn't much parking there anyway. Big ole parking lot at YHG.
