Anyone have any favorites? We went to "Ocean 82" in 2015 and it was great! We land in 39 days and a wake-up.

We just had dinner at Le Cottage and rated it a Ten on a 1 to 5 scale. It is in Grand Case and they have a professional staff to compliment Stephan.

Le Cottage , Le Pressoir and Piazza Pascal in Grand Case. L'Astrolabe, La Voile Blanche , Le Piment and Côté Plage in Orient Bay. Haven't try la Playa yet for dinner but it must be as good as it is for lunch !

Bistro Caribes is our perennial favorite in Grand Case. The past few visits we have been opting for a late lunch at some of the higher-end beach locations. Love Dreams in Nettle Bay, Anse Marcel Beach Bar (yep, in Anse Marcel) and Palm Beach on Orient.

IMO two of the most underrated restaurants in Grand Case are Le Ti Coin Creole - a place run by a native who elevates creole food to fantastic and Sunset Cafe at the Grand Case Beach Club.

I have yet to have a bad meal in Grand Case proper. I too love Le Ti Coin for great creole. I choose them over a lolo.
My very favorite creole is not in Grand Case. It's Yvette's on the middle road to Orient, Cul de Sac and GC.

You didn't specify whether you meant Grand Case only or anywhere on the French side. I love Bistrot Cariabes and Ocean 82 in Grand Case and Dreams in Nettle Bay. Looking forward to trying out LaPlaya on Orient in the near future.

Both La Tastevin and La Villa were great last week, although I don't think you can go wrong in GC with most of the restaurants. Love is a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset before dinner.

Tropicana, La Main a la Pate, bistro de la mer, la croissanterie in Marigot. Le Piment in Orient Village. Orange Fever & Bikini Beach on the beach are all good options. Again, we all have our favourites. Bon appetit!

Probably the best dining experience on the island is at Ti Bouchan in Cul de sac. MoMo will make a memorable evening, this is a must do for us each year.

Le Ti Coin Creole is our traditional first night in SXM restaurant and then we always go back at least one more night. And we always eat once at Sunset Cafe, whether or not we are staying at the Beach Club. I mentioned Grand Case because I wanted the OP to know where these restaurants were as I do think they are underrated and overlooked!

This list is great! We have 10 days on the island and love Grand Case, now it is a problem deciding where to go to for a couple of evenings out from our resort.
Thanks to all!

Your decision will be made easier if you arrive in Grand Case relatively early, and walk down the street looking at the menus. Usually, even in high season, it's easy to get a table at most restaurants if you're there before 7. Also, many of the restaurants have websites or Facebook pages, so you can look at the menus ahead of time if you like. Have fun!!

It depends on the price point, but our favorites in Grand Case are Piazza Pascal and Le Cottage. At a higher price point Pressoir and Auberge Gourmande. The new ownership at L’Effet Mer shows promise.
Its hard to go wrong with Ocean 82 and many love Bistro Caraibes.
Outside of Grand Case Astrolabe at Orient, Ti Bouchon in Grand Case and Tropicana in Marigot are very good places. We haven't yet tried dinner at La Playa under Bruno from Dreams and Thomas from Astrolabe but they are a great team and we will on our next trip.
Especially, in season we feel its just polite to make reservations and let the owners know that you are coming.
Most of these are small places and need to plan ahead. If we are uncertain, we make reservations for our first night and then walk around and make reservations for later nights.
So if you will be dining multiple night on the French side, pick one for your first night and make reservations there. Then walk or drive around to the others and make reservations for those that interest you.
Tough problem to have, eh?

It's hard to keep track with L'Effet Mer.
I believe that they changed ownership about a year ago. We ate there in November.
It was a pleasant and reasonably priced meal with a beautiful view.
We eat multiple times in Grand Case on every trip, so we'll try it again on our trip next month.

We joined a group of friends at Paradise View for cheese fondue and had a great time. You may call ahead to reserve Fondue or Raclette. Two people need to share either dish and the restaurant needs to be advised when reservations are made. There is also other specials for weekends only. We plan to return to sample the Raclette dish. Superior service from two lovely young servers.

I'll take this opportunity to plug Sunset Cafe. I think the Cafe is often passed over since it's off the beaten path, but it always seems to exceed expectations. Nice menu, good specials, great location and staff, and very reasonable prices...including bargains on wine.

We have been going to SXM for the past ten years, usually in November. The two restaurants that are on our list to visit each year are Sunset Cafe at Grand Case Beach Club and Spiga. We've never had a bad meal at either place. When we went this past November, Spiga had a new menu that was much more affordable and excellent choices available. I would highly recommend both restaurants.

i had it last year in Orient Village. Its meat, potatoes and vegetables that you dip in a cheese sauce. It is a nice dish for sharing.

We also had it at Le Piment last November. It was offered as a Special that evening for sharing with 2 people. It easily could have fed 3 or more. We shared quite a bit with the rest of our large table. Delicious!

I 3rd or 4th the Sunset Cafe at the Grand Case Beach Club. Excellent food, wonderful attentive staff and sunset dining make it our "gotta go there". Yvettes is also on our yearly list. Also give double thumbs up to Ocean 82 and Le Cottage.

There are different types of cheese called raclette. Be very careful buying it. We bought 1 brand by mistake & it was so strong smelling we could smell it everytime we opened the fridge door. We gave it to the guy we rent from. He eats it but he said he has to brush his teeth afterwards.
