I see that LaPlaya has renovated there restaurant and have read some great reviews. Does anyone know if they also renovated there rooms I was there last year and they were nice but definitely needed some TLC, ecspecially the air conditioning which wasn't working to well. Going back next year and really enjoyed staying on Orient beach.

Bruno (Dreams, Petite Casino) bought,it, so I imagine everything has been renovated.

Bruno did not buy the Hotel !!! Just the resto with Thomas from l'Astrolabe !

Do you know that to be a fact? The reason I ask is that a long-time island resident told me otherwise.

I asked Bruno two weeks ago when we were there for the weekend. I told him people were saying he bought the hotel on ttol , and he confirmed to me that he did not !
Who told you that ? Maybe they sould check their sources because it's not cool to report things that are not true on a forum like ttol...

Over the years I have gotten some bad information on this forum and others. Just like anything you hear on the internet its not always accurate. I don't think anybody on this board would intentionally mislead just sometimes when you hear it from a friend of a friend it gets mixed up. Just for the record when people let us know he is running LaPlaya a while ago it was also stated he was not involved with the hotel.

I'm not going to share the person's name here; nor did I or he report it as a fact. The person told me what he believed to be true, and I asked you where you got your information. Obviously since you got your info from Bruno, you are correct.

Well I certainly didn't mean to cause such an uproar as to the ownership- was kind of hoping that maybe someone was there recently and could comment on whether the rooms have been upgraded or not- in particular the air conditioning.

Hopefully someone will answer who has stayed there recently.
