We recently sampled this rum and loved it but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if it sold in the New York Metro Area or can it be obtained online?

Pete -

I checked their website and the vanilla is no longer listed. I've sent them an email asking if it still produced.

Got you hooked have I? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Hooked and going through withdrawal. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />
We searched in SXM and online to no avail. That was very generous of you and Bill to share with us this delicious and now rare rum. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/thanks.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Kiss.gif" alt="" />

Not really a fan of Tortuga's, but recommend you try Brinley's Gold Vanilla Rum from St. Kitts. Trust me...

Here's the response I got from Tortuga

Quote
Yes we do manufacture the Vanilla Rum; however you may only purchase at this time ion the various Islands that have our rums. I do once again apologize for this inconvenience.

So we just have to find someone who carries it or will order it.

I have a friend with good connections in the liquor industry who is trying to source a case for me. If this comes to fruition we'll have to meet on your next trip to the US so I can give you some. Can you bring it into SXM?

Spoke to the owner of Kenny's (my past supplier) yesterday. He says it is no longer available for distribution on St Maarten. They can not order it.

Tried to convince me Guavaberry Vanilla was just as nice. Obviously he hadn't a clue! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" />

Far as I know I can check it to SXM, but those opportunities are far and few between, since I don't get back to the US very often.

I may try Brinley's Gold Vanilla Rum on Testudo's recommendation until I can find Tortuga's.

Tortuga Vanilla Rum was the first real
indication that god loved me. Now,
I can't buy it in the U.S.

Funny how life works. I am being
tested by a turtle.

Please sell this in the U.S.
Thanks in advance - John

You may want to contact Tortuga's US distributor to see if they either do or are willing to import the vanilla rum. Didn't look like they did import the vanilla from their product list, but you never know.

This may be redundant or off point, but Tortuga Vanilla is massively available here on Grand Cayman. Just come on down and get yourself a bunch.... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

We just finished the last of the bottle of Tortuga Vanilla Rum we brought back from our last cruise. I agree they should distribute it in the USA <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/usflag.gif" alt="" /> We can't get any Tortuga Rum locally. I guess I'll have to call Disney and book another cruises soon! Luckily, we have a bottle of Rum Cream to tide us over. We also have some Tortuga Banana Rum... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Banana.gif" alt="" />
