If you’re talking about the Tamarind Club down by the East End we stayed there and had a ball. Really laid back with good food and a swim up bar. Not the fanciest rooms but comfortable.

I had the same comments as rhans...

Yes.

Reasonably priced accommodations, drinks and great, reasonably priced food...pool & bar...and you are a nice walk away to Josiah's Bay beach if that interests you.

I would not call the place fancy, it's comfortable.

Bring bug spray and/or use theirs - no-see-ums active

Can't say enough nice things about the folks at Tamarind Club. Great food, fantastic Sunday Brunch, and a fun pool atmosphere around the bar!!

Enjoy,

Our experience was just okay. Hard boiled eggs for breakfast..sometimes..birds in the food off to one side and if you want breakfast get there early before it's gone. At night there were dogs running free in the eating area and often fighting with each other making the servers job difficult at best. The room, - overlooking the pool - was okay but the door wouldn't lock so every time we went out we had to take all our valuables with us. We did love the crab cakes - even if it took an hour to get each order. Owners boyfriend was as miserable as Basil from Fawlty Towers but the daughter was very helpful. This resort at one time was well kept and very popular but badly needs a spruce up and regular maintenance. We would go there again now that we know what to expect but we aren't tourists..just travellers. Oh yes...hope you don't mind roosters crowing..they do it all day AND night and the sound echoes across the valley and hillside. The nearby beach is nice with lots of parking and is sheltered and sometimes a great place to surf - one of only a few on the island. The pool was great but stay in the water..the deck is littered with water pipes for the pool. Don't expect too much... roll with the punches and..you should have a good time. It's remote but not in that you're 15 minutes away from town, grocery stores, the airport and restuarants/bars. Good luck

We have stayed at the Tamarind Club many times over the years. No, it is not fancy. It is clean, comfortable and unpretentious.

The restaurant is one of the best on all of Tortola. The menu is creative and always excellent. The Tamarind is one of the few Tortola restaurants that I can honestly say that has never ever disappointed me. We had dinner there last night with Jason and Tiffany (Agape Cottages). I had tuna, and it was perfectly seared.

The folks at the Tamarind are among the best on the island. They have been extremely helpful to Nancy and me, and we think of them as family. We never come to Tortola without spending time at the Tamarind.

I am having 20 of my high school classmates come down in June for a sailing trip. I have advised them that my choice for the best place to stay pre- and post-sail is the Tamarind Club.

We ate/drank there on our 1st trip to the BVI's back in 2002. Met one of the owners who is also from our GA home of Woodstock. VERY small world.
