Any chance anyone leaving SXM can check whether the Duty Free shop past security at Princess Airport has Cuban cigars for sale? MonteCristos, Cohibas, etc.
Thanks - trying to bring a present home for someone.

A couple of the big duty free stores had them 11 months ago... I'd predict they still do. I remember both of those brands. Relatively poor selection though, and definitely not any kind of a steal of a deal! I miss the little cigar shop that was just at the top of the stairs... That family-run shop was nice, friendly people, lots of choice. Long gone now.

In Maho, Jewels and Linens has a humidor that sell Cuban cigars. I would not bother with the airport. Ask for Aniel. He has Cohiba, Montecristo, Partagas, etc.....

Here's some advice from an old cigar smoker.
1. Yes, airport has duty free Cuban cigars like Cohibas or Montecristo's that will cost $10 to $15 per cigar or more.
They are legal now so no hassle at customs (in truth there has rarely been any problem here since they would at most confiscate since they were only looking for drugs).

2. Better choice is Cigar Emporium or Habana de Casa in P-burg.
Some others may or may not be counterfeit but cheap deals are almost always counterfeit.

I would second the recommendation of Jewels and Linens in Maho. Aniel is the best.

Cigar Emporium has a great selection but will not deal on price for large quantities where as others that do carry real Cubans will.
