Sitting on our patio looking at St. Croix. Can also see Anegada and, of course, Virgin Gorda. Last night was wonderfully cool - 73 degrees. Seas are dead calm. Great time to be in the BVIs!

I'm still waking up, you can see St. Croix apparently from Tortola?

Several years ago I flew past the BVI at sunrise on a perfectly calm day with amazing visibility. Sadly I did not have a camera with me because the view was incredible. Like looking down at a living map with every island in view. You could even see the drop offs. If you get several days in a row of calm waters the visibility in the water becomes fantastic. I have motored to Anegada where you could clearly see the bottom all the way there from the North sound. G

We saw 66F last night. Its warming up today, the first time we ran fans in the galley in two weeks. Super clear and calm after two weeks of big swell and winds.
Cheers, RickG

Man, 66 degrees and sleeping on a boat sounds like heaven to me.

What great news to hear! We are starting our charter this Sunday and I'm going to get our captain to do some of the hazing ideas for all the newbies coming this trip.

Cold and flat calm has its upside if you don't prefer wind. Change is alway good, chilly sleeping is WONDERFUL.
A side note, the guys who tow boats off reefs told me that MOST accidents happen when it is flat calm. Especially the large reef off of St. John and in the Green/Sandy/little Jost area and in the caminoe cut.
