Looking for places for breakfast

What area are you staying? Would help to know if you want Dutch or French side breakfast.

I guess I should have said on dutch side ,staying at the summitt

St Maarten Yacht Club on the water right by bridge. You can watch the boats come in and out of the lagoon when bridge is up. Great breakfast and Bloody Mary's.

There is breakfast at El Zafiro on Simpson Bay, Beacon Hill area (past Sunset).
Hideaway at La Vista has a nice view, though it's around a pool with view down the hill to the water.
Tortuga Cafe at Royal Islander is on Maho.

Things change but over the past year we enjoyed breakfasts at the Green Monkey at the Ocean Club - just down the road and across the street from you; also we were quite surprised that Sunset Bar and Grill at the end of the runway served a very good and reasonably priced breakfast; the yacht Club by the drawbridge, as already mentioned, serves a great breakfast with a view of the yachts coming and going from the lagoon; Tortuga at Royal Islander is very good and again, reasonably priced and with a view (depending where you sit....) of the beach at Maho. And then there's Wilmas, the Hideaway up at La Vista Resort, and so many others, but these are all very close or at least, an easy drive for you. We also personally have enjoyed several breakfasts at El Zafiro where we also enjoyed their beach and free chairs.

One other option that comes to mind is Dreams Beach in Nettle Baie where I've heard the breakfasts are good but I haven't personally tried them. My understanding is chairs and umbrellas are included with breakfast just as they are for lunch and drinks. It's a very easy drive from you. La Sucriere is another option if you don't want a heavy breakfast.

Where is La Sucriere located is it the French bakery located on the bay

Near the Fed-Ex sign in Cole Bay/Simpson Bay. Across from the 24/7 Cappuccino Diner. Welfare Rd #130 if that helps and it is on the bay.

I love their stuff, but if the original poster is looking for eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, that kind of stuff, they don't have it. They have lovely croissants, quiches and lovely strong coffee though. You can get carry out, which is what we usually do, often buying a quiche the day before, for the next morning's breakfast, out on the porch at Beachside Villas. Best view overlooking the water on the whole island, to me!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> Their back patio is a lovely quiet place to have a wonderful croissant and a cup of coffee though!

Love that! We enjoy watching skiffs arrive to take away baguettes, some a dozen at a time. And if you're lucky you can watch a guy shimmy up the mast on a sailboat moored nearby to do some maintenance,

My favorite breakfast is an omelet at Sunset Cafe in Grand Case.

My vote goes to Chesterfield's in Phillipsburg. A nice quiet spot looking out over the bay. They have just about anything that you would want for breakfast.

It's a paid parking lot, but Chesterfield's customers park for free.

Another good option if in that area and decent prices also. I was not impressed with the one lunch I had there but breakfast has always been very good.

Huh, it's been a while since I've been to Chesterfields. I didn't remember the parking lot being a paid lot. I can see where it might be necessary though.

Yes, pay lot but they validate the ticket with breakfast or a meal. You can stay longer but that is at your expense if you want to go into town from there. I think you get 2 hours if dining there.

Not to sell any other place short, but if I was doing a special breakfast and knowing where you're staying, I'd beat feet over to the Yacht Club - I can never remember if it's St. Maarten or Simpson Bay Yacht Club and I'm thinking it's the latter, right beyond the bridge on the left. Parking can be problematic but the breakfast fare is excellent. We particularly enjoy the Eggs Benedict there, and you can start the meal with Bloody Mary's (that are rumored to be about the best around) or Mimosas and just eat your heart out over the yachts passing before your very eyes.

So many great choices and I think over the years we've done probably 90% of the ones mentioned here and while so many are great, the boats and the libations at the Yacht Club make it without equal in my book. And it doesn't hurt that the food is quite enjoyable, too.....

And if that doesn't do it for you, my plan 2 would be Paradise View but it's a bit of a drive and they're closed Tuesdays I believe. Where is Chesterfield's parking lot?

Pat, it's the SMYC. Sint Maarten Yacht Club and while I haven't had a Bloody Mary at every establishment I would say that the BMs at SMYC never disappoint. Very good.

Paradise View has excellent crepes and also offers an American breakfast.

Bruno is offering breakfast at LaPlaya on Orient which is about as good as a water view as it's on the beach.

We've been. It's a bit of a walk in, from where you have to park.

I didn't feel the food or service were on the level of the Simpson Bay location.
