[Linked Image]My first visit to Grand Caymans was in May 2001. I can thank the movie The Firm for putting me there. Something just grabbed me about that location, don't ask me why. Anyway I went on line and checked a few destinations. I also joined a few travel boards to see what all the crowing about Grand Caymans was. The internet is fantastic. I found the Beachcomber's website which gave you a virtural tour around EACH UNIT so you knew exactly where you were staying. Well, that peek at that unit was nothing compared to what we got. We rented the bottom unit that faced the ocean. We were steps away from the water. We got to the unit -- and my teeth dropped. FANTASTIC. The person who owned this unit liked nice things. The kitchen was stocked better than my own at home; the bedrooms/bathrooms were immaculate, and I was in heaven.

Apparently many of the same people go to this particular resort year after year, or sometimes many times a year. Being from SF, this is a once a year trip for me, but how I envy those who fly a few times a year to Grand Caymans.

I found the people to be hospitable, the food to be wonderful and the water unbelievable. Yes, it's expensive. So I always recommend anyone to bring some "reinforcements" to their destination. A condo/timeshare is the way to go. I can't ever do a hotel again. I need a full kitchen and refrig. I read over the talk boards daily and learned from the experts on what to expect.

So I offer you my knowledge, even though I have only been once. I had the Cayman Blues when I got back, and was searching the timeshare circuit. . . and bought my own unit at Plantation Village a few doors down from Beachcomber on 7 Mi Beach. Planning my next trip in 2003![Linked Image]
