We are studio people. We like the comfortable simplicity. We used to think we'd only like those we had first facing the ocean, but last time took a studio facing towards the health center in the back. That was very pretty, private and peaceful.

That said, we wouldn't turn down any of them.

Possibly the best, most relaxing place on earth.

We've always been in a mini-suite deluxe. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been told that they're the only units with king-size beds. Poured concrete construction keeps out noise from the other half of the unit. Plus the chalets only have air conditioning in the bedroom.

OK, guys, the original question was only about beach chalets.. I don't think they want opinions on other units.

We like the Waterfront Chalets, 52 is our current favorite since it has A/C in both the bedroom and the Living room/kitchen. It's great to be able to walk back & forth to a unit so close to the beach.

We typically stay in a Mini-Suite or Mini-Suite Deluxe.

But on our last trip (in April), we splurged and rented a Beach Front Chalet #64. Even though it could use some sprucing up, its proximity to the beach could not be matched (unless you were in a waterfront chalet). We would definitely take that one again!

We have never stayed in a beach chalet, but we are booked in May. I'm reading that only some of the beach chalets are only air conditioned in the bedroom. Is that the majority of them, or can you specifically request one that has air conditioning through out the unit?

I believe only unit 52 has A/C in both the living area and the bedroom. ALL of the units have A/C in the bedroom. We have only stayed in that unit once (last November), but have stayed in the Waterfront units yearly for the past 8 years or so. To be honest, we didn't use the living area A/C that much since the ocean breezes are plenty to keep it cool. There are enough windows in the living area to get a good cross-breeze. You can request a specific unit when you make your reservation, but they will not guarantee that you will get that unit.

Unit 64 only had AC in the bedroom. However we would close the door between the living area and the hall to the bedroom/bathroom/"front"door and the AC would cool all of that fairly well. Opening the sliders on the water side in the evening cooled things off nicely in the kitchen/living area.
