Another year...Anyone have any update on the property? Such a disappointing "turn of events." You can't "take away" the beautiful waters though... Merry Christmas everyone! Panman

Hurry Up and Wait is how SXM courts seem to operate, saying they are "busy."

SXM News article about Liat stranding people mentions a problem placing travelers since hotels like Alegria are full.

Seems to be many rooms available on the booking websites and Alegria's site. Maybe Alegria was just telling Liat they were full so they didn't have to fight for payment? OR just misinformation from a web based news agency?

In November two different Liat cancelled flights were put up at The Towers. One was stranded for 4 days.
Liat has a pilot and crew shortage, and they are working only "to the letter"... no overtime, etc.

How very sad for all concerned. We've been at the Towers in the past when something like this happened involving both Liat and KLM and it was awful.
On one hand we felt very sad for the people stranded but at the same time, we saw the way many of them treated the Towers staff, all of whom were doing their very best but had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PASSENGERS PLIGHT, and the behavior of too many was appalling. And that wasn't at the time of a major holiday.....

Very sad indeed. Another reason I would do everything possible to not travel over a major holiday. I can understand people being frustrated but it sounds like they are taking it out on the wrong party.

Right Pat....it doesn't have to be a holiday issue. I got stranded in Vegas for 3 nights in August, no luggage. Things like that can make you crabby. We had to stay at 2 different hotels and they both did what they could to help us. It also wasn't the ticket agents fault either. Air travel isn't what is used to be!
