We remembered Anegada as a beautiful and peaceful place.

But here's music from two sides, different songs and very, very loud. Is this meanwhile normal for Anegada or is there only a special party today?

Wow! We always head to Anegada for the peace and quiet and of course the lobster! Hope this was a one off.

My last two stops there were not as good as I had hoped due to excessively loud music way too late. Last time I gave up sleeping to go join the party only to find only a few people there and nobody dancing.

I suppose the music is coming from Potters

We were there two Wednesdays ago and the music from Potters was fairly loud and went into the night. We had eaten dinner there and then participated in the dancing and limbo along with a good number of other people, so it wasn't loud music being played to an empty bar.

You can't fault them when there's a party, but there definitely are some times when there's loud music on for no reason. On my last trip while we were in Great Harbor on Jost, that little snack place on the west side by the ferry had giant speakers out side blasting music all day long across the harbor. There wasn't anybody outside that we could see...

They told us that the music was because of the sunsail-flotilla which felt in here last night. Now they moved on to Marina Cay. Hope they will therefore let off the music this night.

Otherwise everybody in the bight has to listen to their music no matter if you want or not ...

They have played the music loud for years as a Siren to sailors. Often our guests would be lured in after dinner for the music, some nights no one there, other nights a crowd. We anchor by Neptune's so the music is a non issue.

Neptunes had it super loud last night. Very annoying way out in harbor but it shut down around 10. I hope it is just the Tuesday night bbq. I will plan around Tuesdays from now on. Drakes anchorage at north sound is very nice right now.

We experienced the same loud music when we were there in February, and it went on quite late into the night. It was made worse because it was coming from two different sources. Nevertheless we enjoyed anagada overall, cow wreck, loblolly, etc and dinner at the wonky dog was fantastic.

I kind of like sitting on a boat listening to music wafting from a beach bar...as long as it's just ONE beach bar...and preferably live music...not that I'm...uh...picky...

Makes me happy that I encountered Anegada before visitors there needed a sound track and entertainment for it to be a worthwhile stop.

So I'm a curmudgeonly old woman. The beauty, peace and goodwill of Anegada was a gift of untold value when I received it.

30 or more nights in my life at the Setting Point anchorage. Some nights were quiet. Some had loud music. I don't own the place and I respect the folks that live there trying to make a living. If the music brings in a group that spends $250 it can change a bad night into a good one. You should get over yourself.

And the group that would have spent $500.00 for a good meal at a peaceful anchorage went somewhere else. We all vote one way or another!

Get over yourself!?! That's a little harsh, isn't it?

She is glad that she visited before the bars felt the need for loud music. And you think she needs to get over herself for saying that? Wow.

Perhaps you might read this thread from the very beginning and understand that others have concerns, as well.

Please don't worry, I won't be any bother to you or anyone else at Setting Point.

We were getting ready to head to Anegada this past May from North Sound. Went to Saba the night before for something to eat and ran into the large Sunsail/Moorings flotilla who were partying and all excited about their planned trip to Anegada the following morning (Tuesday) -- we decided to skip it and hang in North Sound for another night - love it when it's peaceful there but it didn't look like it would be - LOL. Fourteen boats were heading over the next morning.

We were in the mooring field on Tuesday (12/6) straight out from Wonky Dog and could hear the blaring music. It was 70's to 80's music. We ate dinner at Wonky Dog and came back to the boat to lay on the nets and look at the stars. The music became old quick. Off to bed we went. Thank goodness the ac drown out the noise.

I am totally shocked that the loud music came from Neptune's Treasures. Totally different from what we have experienced from them over the last few years, well really 20 years.

@HoosierDaddy

Neptune Treasure said that they stopped their music at 11 pm. If this is correct it is uclear what was the second sound source ...

It is a real shame that there is so much noise in the BVI now.

It's not difficult to find the quieter times there - just avoid the typical "charter crawl" - which usually puts more boats in the anchorage on Tuesday or Wednesday if the charter is going Saturday-Saturday. Can't always count on that, obviously - but your chances for quieter liming are improved. Even Cow Wreck was blasting loud music when we were last there, but I know that is not always the case.

gonna keep an open mind, but the main reason we are going to Anegada is for the peaceful quietness & how beautiful it is...we arrive Feb at Neptunes & hope this is all settled by then...little disappointing.

Of course. But the question is, can you find a quiet spot to anchor for the night? Some people don't care to be kept awake until 11pm.

Sure, don't people anchor in the Pomato point area? That would be away from any noise in the main anchorage.

Wonder if the flotilla was part of "The Yacht Week" group ?

Have never anchored there personally. My understanding is that it is only viable under a narrow range of weather conditions. That the more usual anchorage, in front of the Reef Hotel, is best for a much wider range of conditions.
