Hello all,,,I have a friend who is presently in SXM....they got moved last minute to Rui Palace in Anse marcel ? area? It's their first time,,so they didn't rent car...wondering if anyone has a name or number that I could send them for a person who might take them on a bit of a tour so they can appreciate the island for the first time. Any suggestions?

Absolutely! TTOL sponsor Wilfred Brooks. A careful, knowledgeable driver, and a heck of a nice guy!

Thank you SO much!! They were supposed to be booked into Sonesto Great Bay and got switched at last minute. Their location now is fairly isolated and I think if I shoot them his number they will take advantage of a nice guided tour.
Wish I was there, I would tour them around myself,,,but alas,,,not till January 2017!!!

No problem. I think they will like Wilfred.

That's weird though, why did they get switched like that?

Not sure? They are doing all inclusive,,,which is foreign to me....I think knowing them the Great Bay locate would have been nicer for them,,,but they seem to think the Rui is nice as well,,,I was just trying to help out newbies who may be nervous renting a car and getting around. On our first trip in 2005,,,we stayed at the old C....and rented a car and did get lost a couple of times, but that was half the adventure!!Not everyone is like us though! lol

Meg,

Even though it's kind of isolated where they are at RIU, the beach there AT Anse Marcel is delightful so in the end they probably won't be disappointed in the actual property. We would spend much more time there if it wasn't such an adventurous drive from our timeshare on the other end of the island.

And everyone does rave about how great Mr. Brooks is. Methinks your friends are lucky to have you looking out for them.

Respectfully,

pat

even though they are at an A.I. they should not miss a dinner in Grande Case, superior to anything RUI serves.

is Grande Case close? I admit I am not familiar with that part of the island at all! We spend most of our time on the dutch side when we have been to sxm,,,other than the occasional "tour" around.

Grand Case is very close to the Riu; about a 15 minute drive at most.
